Seoul shares end lower but above 2,400 mark as tech stocks weigh

SEOUL, March 14 (Reuters) – Seoul shares ended lower on Monday, snapping a two-session winning streak, as tech stocks weighed despite gains in battery and semiconductor plays. The benchmark KOSPI fell 14.45 points, or 0.59%, to close at 2,412.79, after hitting a high of 2,438.57 earlier in the session. Volume was moderate, with 546 million shares worth 10.59 trillion won ($8.9 billion) traded. Of the total 931 issues traded, 487 advanced and 351 declined. Foreigners were net buyers of 211.2 billion won worth of shares, while institutions offloaded a net 364.6 billion won. After a strong rally in February, the KOSPI has been hovering around the 2,400 level in March amid concerns over rising interest rates and geopolitical tensions. .
