Economists Are Saying the Fed Needs to Pivot, and Fast

The Federal Reserve might need to reverse course on its aggressive interest-rate increases, according to a growing number of economists.

The central bank has raised its benchmark interest rate by 0.75 percentage points at each of its last three meetings, in an effort to tame inflation, which is running at a 40-year high.

But some economists are now warning that the Fed is moving too quickly and could tip the economy into a recession.
